Website Support & Maintenance

Website support and continuous improvement

A fixed monthly arrangement that keeps your website updated, monitored, backed up and accessible, with an agreed allowance of time each month for improvements rather than only fixes.

The problem

What this work is usually brought in to solve

  • Updates are skipped until something breaks or a vulnerability is reported.
  • Nobody notices the site is down until a customer or resident says so.
  • Content goes stale because editing feels risky.
  • Accessibility slips after launch as new pages are added by different people.
  • There is no backup anyone has actually tested restoring.
  • Page speed degrades quietly as images and scripts accumulate.

Outcomes

What changes for your organisation

Fewer surprises
Patching, monitoring and backups happen on a schedule rather than after an incident.
A site that keeps improving
Monthly time set aside for changes that make the site work harder.
Accountability
A named team, an agreed response approach and a written record of what was done.
Predictable cost
A fixed monthly fee instead of unplanned emergency work.

Our approach

How we deliver it

  1. 01Take stock

We review the current site, hosting, backups and access before taking anything on.

  2. 02Agree the scope

What is covered, what counts as improvement time and how you raise requests.

  3. 03Stabilise

Clear the immediate risks: outdated dependencies, missing backups, broken links.

  4. 04Run the cycle

Scheduled updates and checks, with alerts handled as they arise.

  5. 05Review

A regular written summary of what changed and what we recommend next.

  6. 06Improve

Use the monthly allowance on the changes with the clearest benefit.

Where it applies

Sector and use-case examples

Councils and public bodies
Keeping accessibility statements, forms and service pages current and compliant.
Clinics and practices
Keeping fees, availability and practitioner information accurate.
Growing businesses
Adding pages and campaigns without letting the core site decay.
Sites we did not build
We can take on an existing site after a review of how it is put together.

Standards

Standards and considerations we work to

  • WCAG 2.2 AA maintained as pages change, not only at launch.
  • Dependency and platform updates applied on a defined schedule.
  • Backups taken regularly with a documented and tested restore.
  • Changes recorded so any edit can be explained and reversed.
  • Core Web Vitals monitored: LCP under 2.5 seconds, INP under 200 milliseconds, CLS under 0.1.

Suitability

Who this is for

  • Organisations with no in-house developer responsible for the website.
  • Teams that need evidence their site is maintained and accessible.
  • Anyone who wants steady improvement rather than a redesign every few years.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you support sites you did not build?

Usually yes, after a short review of the current build. If it is not safe to maintain, we will say so and set out the options.

What is the response approach?

Response commitments are agreed in writing when the arrangement starts, based on how critical the site is to your operation.

Is hosting included?

Hosting is arranged in your name so you keep control. We manage it on your behalf where you want us to.

What counts as improvement time?

Content edits, new pages, form changes, accessibility fixes and small features. Larger projects are quoted separately.

Can we cancel?

Yes. Notice periods are set out in the written agreement, and you keep your code, content and hosting.

What does it cost?

Support is quoted against the size of the site and the cover you need. Website build packages are on our pricing page.
